KAWASAKI — Kappabashi, Tokyo
English support and tax-free are shown only where we've confirmed them. Many Kappabashi shops do offer tax-free — ask at the register (passport required).
Tools for pastry and bread, sold here since 1946. The shop’s site makes a flat claim: there is nothing it cannot get hold of.
On the ground floor the tools are laid out by stage of the work, so you walk the floor in the order you would bake in; the large commercial machinery is on 2F. Baking trays, chocolate moulds, Matfer’s French pastry tools, trade-sized pans, knives and scales are all here. Watch the days: the shop is closed on Thursdays as well as Sundays and public holidays.
