MAJIMAYA — Kappabashi, Tokyo
English support and tax-free are shown only where we've confirmed them. Many Kappabashi shops do offer tax-free — ask at the register (passport required).
Majimaya has dealt in confectionery tools since 1951: wooden moulds for wagashi, tins and moulds for Western-style confectionery, cookie cutters, bread tins, and branding irons for pressing a mark into a finished sweet. It makes originals and takes custom orders, under a line of its own that runs roughly: if it does not exist, it can be made.
Moulds are light and they lie flat, which makes them one of the easier things on this street to carry home.
